THE VOICE

Why the voice can be a sensitive topic

When your own voice feels strange

Sometimes the own voice feels like a place,
where you're not exactly at home..

Your (re)discover does not match
how you experience yourself..

Or it verändert
and you do not know yet
how you can connect with it yet

In a society where voices are quickly interpreted and categorised by gender, this can be painful.
And that’s not a personal failure.
But a reaction to societal expectstions.

Perhaps...

  • your voice has changed as part of your transition verändert
  • you feel insecure in the sound of your voice

  • you get perceived in the wrong way

  • you want to explore your voice beyond norms erkunden

  • you are looking for a space without "right" or "wrong"

Reclaim Your Voice! is not your typical voice training.
It is not about passing.
Not about optimization.

It is about reclaiming your voice as a space of experience — as something that belongs to you.

This workshop offers an alternative to traditional voice training and focuses not on ‘passing’ but on self-determination.

The workshop is based on pedagogical principles and connects voice work, body awareness and group dynamic processes. und gruppendynamische Prozesse.

We work with voice, body and community –
soft and powerful at the same time.

You will:

use your voice to explore – talking, singing, humming, whispering and screaming

get to know body-focused exercises, that ground you in your voice

experience empowerment impulses, that connect you with your expression

find group resonance – through making sounds together, improvising and listening

Soft.
Powerful.
Together.

Noamis steht mit geschlossenen Augen und einer Hand auf der Brust im Freien – Moment der Selbstwahrnehmung und Verbindung zur eigenen Stimme im Kontext des Workshops Reclaim Your Voice.

It is not about technique or performance.

You don't have to sing in front of other people.
You don't have to present anything.
You will not get judged.

What matters is the shared experience
at your own pace,
with the voice you have right now.

Your voice can be quiet .
Your voice can be loud .
It can be raw, delicate or powerful .

The focus is on connection –
to yourself,
to your body
and to the group.

My approach as a vocal coach

I know the pressure, to have a voice that "fits"
That stands out less. That seems more secure.

My work doesn’t start with a standard.
    But with you.

Unlike traditional voice training, this isn’t about optimisation, but about connection.

    No target voice.
    Just YOURS.

    I am nonbinary and transmasculine.
And I know the search for a voice that feels like me.

    ABOUT ME

Where I come from & how I work

Why I do this work and where I come from:

I have been working with groups in music education for over six years.
In 2023 I finishedI my dual bachelor’s degree in “Music Education and Music Pedagogy in Social Work” .

Today I devise and facilitate Voice workshops, Vocal Coachings and Singing Lessons in Berlin – with a focus on work with the queer and trans* community.

But my work does not start at university.
It begins with my own story.

I am nonbinary and transmasculine myself.
I know what it’s like to struggle to find one’s own voice – particularly in the context of transition and societal expectations.

The voice is never only sound.
    It is identity.
    Body.
    History.

    Q&A

    Questions & Answers

Do I need to be able to sing?

The workshop is open to participants of all levels of experience – from those singing their first tentative tones to those with stage experience.

Es geht nicht um Leistung, sondern um Erfahrung.
Du brauchst keine Technik, keine „schöne Stimme“ und kein Vorwissen. Nur dich.

Do I have to sing in front of the group?

    No.

There are no mandatory solo sections.

We spend a lot of time working on our collective sound, doing exercises and in a safe environment.
If anyone would like to share something, that’s welcome – but it’s never a requirement.

    Safety first.

Who is this vocal coaching suitable for?

The workshop is aimed at trans*, non-binary, inter* and gender-nonconforming people – as well as anyone who wishes to explore their voice beyond normative expectations.

Depending on the context, the format can also be designed to accommodate mixed groups (queer, FLINTA*, etc.).
The key point is: we work with respect, autonomy and without judgement.

For organisations, I tailor the target audience and framework to their specific needs.

Is this about passing or a "target voice"?

No. It’s not about techniques to make your voice sound more feminine or masculine, but about exploration and empowerment.

    Is this a therapeutic offer?

No. The workshop is an educational, empowering group activity and is not a substitute for speech therapy or other therapeutic treatment.

How big should the groups be?

    Ideally 6-12 people.
This creates a supportive environment in which individual processes can continue to take place whilst collective experience can also develop.

Larger group formats are also possible by arrangement, e.g. for festivals or conferences.

Can I book the workshop for my organisation?

Yes, of course! Just send me your enquiry.

The workshop can be booked as an in-person event – e.g. for:

    • Youth centres

    • Queer centres

    • Educational institutions

    • Festivals

    • Community formats

I tailor the content, duration and target audience to each specific project.

    How does a collaboration work?

Following your initial enquiry, we will clarify the following together:

    • Target group

    • Group size

    • Time frame

    • key areas of focus

    • organisational requirements

I bring a tried-and-tested educational approach to the table – and adapt it sensitively to the specific context.
